Hire Terms & Conditions

⦁    All costumes remain the property of Mad Hatters Fancy Dress Wardrobe Ltd.
⦁    All customer deposits must be provided in cash
⦁    The named hirer has the sole responsibility for the costume until the costume is returned to Mad Hatters Fancy Dress Wardrobe Ltd premises
⦁    No refunds will be issued once a costume has been booked, this includes cancellation of the function, for whatever reason
⦁    Any changes to a booking will be subject to a £6 administration fee.
⦁    Costumes cannot be changed once they have left the shop premises.
⦁    If a costume has been booked and subsequently damaged by a third party before your hire date, we will offer a comparable replacement.
⦁    Customers should check their costume thoroughly and advise the shop of any damage, marks, or items missing before their function. A message can be left on the answer phone. Any damage not reported by 7 p.m. on the day of collection, will be charged to the hirer.
⦁    Costumes must be returned on the day specified on the hire agreement, and returned within normal shop opening times. Failure to do so will result in a £9.50 per day surcharge.
⦁    If the costume is not returned 15 days after the return day the deposit will be kept on addition to the late penalty fees of £9.50 per day.
⦁    Customers must not wash costumes or tumble dry any wet item.
⦁    Customers must not attach sticky labels or badges to any part of the costume.
⦁    Customers must not pin, sew, glue, iron and alter any costume that is hired.
⦁    Part or all of the deposit will be forfeit or the cost or replacement charged if;
⦁    A costume is returned beyond reasonable repair
⦁    The costume is returned needing specialised cleaning
⦁    The costume is returned with permanent damage, i.e. cigarette burns
⦁    The costume is returned with one or more items missing
⦁    Any modifications have been carried out on the costume
⦁    The costume is returned with blood (or other body fluids)
⦁    The costume is not returned to Props & Frocks for whatever reason
⦁    Deposits or the cost of replacement will be deducted from the customer's credit/debit card (if applicable) if the costume is returned, as per condition 13,14,15,16.
⦁    Original hangers must be returned; failure to do so will result in a £2 charge per missing hanger.
